Moss-Joe, He was an Engineer here that transfer to Atlanta. Joe just passed in Arkansas last Tuesday or Wednesday. He will be cremated in Arkansas and his ashes will be brought to Omaha and there will be a service for him in the spring of 2008. Joe’s daughter, Tami Dean also an engineer, retired from the Omaha Works, now works as a waitress at Millard Roadhouse. Joe ran for public office once or twice during his career at W.E.

The funeral for Robert V. “Bob” Muhle, 86, of Fremont will be
10:30 a.m. Thursday at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont.
He died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Nye Pointe Health and
Rehabilitation Center in Fremont.
He was born June 27, 1921, in West Point to Henry and Mildred (Poladna) Muhle. He grew up in West Point and moved to Bancroft in 1934 where he graduated from high school. He moved to San Diego in 1940 and worked at an aircraft factory. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from July 24, 1942, to Oct. 25, 1945. He moved to Fremont in 1946 and was employed by Nick Neff Motors and the Farmers Union Transfer. He attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. He was a route salesman for Tom’s Toasted Peanuts in Fremont and later worked at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant in Mead. He moved to Perry, Iowa, and owned and operated the Tastee Freeze from 1954 to 1955. He returned to Fremont and was a supervisor at Western Electric in Omaha for 25 years, retiring in 1982.
He married Jeanette Jacobson on Feb. 20, 1945, in St. Augustine, Fla.
He was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Fremont, past vice commander and member of American Legion Post 20 of Fremont and a life member of Disabled American Veterans in Fremont. He was active in the Dodge County 4-H Fair and was a grand marshal. He was a former 4-H club leader and served on the 4-H Council. He also was a member of the Dodge County Agricultural Society and Golden K Kiwanis Club of Fremont.
Survivors include: his wife; four daughters, Janet (and husband, Kevin) VanFleet of Dana Point, Calif., Susan (and husband, Mark) Pimper of Longmont, Colo., Karen (and husband, Brad) Detmer of Cashiers, N.C., and Debbie (and husband, Roger) Petersen of Fremont; a sister, Betty (and husband, Robert) Quigley of Milwaukee, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Monnich of South Sioux City and Genevieve Hermelbracht of Bancroft; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
The Rev. William Lewis will officiate Thursday’s service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 and American Legion Post 20 at the church immediately following the funeral. Private burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
A memorial has been established to The Presbyterian Church.

Lumilla A. Rise, 88, of Fremont died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007,
at Fremont Area Medical Center.
She was born March 27, 1919, in Duncan Falls, Ohio, to Albert and Rose Rathe Goelz. She lived in several communities during her childhood years. She moved to Fremont when she was 17 years old. She married Otto Rise on Nov. 11, 1936, in Papillion. She worked at Western Electric (which later became Lucent Technology) for several years before retiring. Her husband preceded her in death in February 1979.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Survivors include: four daughters, Sherry Wolter of Fremont, Pamela Miller of Omaha, Karen (and husband, Stan) Portsche of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Clara (and husband, Gene) Havecost of Scribner; five sons, Arnold Rise, David (and wife, Carole) Rise and Charles (and wife, Jan) Rise, all of Fremont, Edward Rise of Des Moines, Iowa, and Merle (and wife, Debra) Rise of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Clarence Goelz of Holstein; a sister, Thelma Bartling of Fremont; 30 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev.Timothy Gierke officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Robert Edward Stander
STANDER-Robert Edward, 63, of Gladstone Circle, died Wed., 10/31/07 in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospital. He was born on 2/21/44 in Omaha to the late Maurice and Alice O’Connell Stander. Mr. Stander was a Labor Representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased in death by his son, Robert Todd Stander. Mr. Stander was initiated into Local Union 1974 of the IBEW on 12/1/62. While attending to his local union duties, he pursued studies in labor relations and economics at UNO. On April 4/15/71, IBEW International President Charles H. Pillard appointed Mr. Stander to be an International Representative and assigned him to the Manufacturing Department of the International Office in Washington, DC. As an International Representative, Bob was responsible for promoting and developing coordinated bargaining programs, the development and initiation of educational programs for local unions interested in coordinated bargaining and the negotiations of national contracts for local unions representing employees of common employers. On 4/1/87, IBEW International President J. J. Barry appointed him to Director of the Manufacturing Department. In this position, Mr. Stander reported to the International President of the IBEW. Bob was selected to represent the IBEW, and the labor movement, through participation in a joint study program in Japan. Upon his return home, he was elected to serve on the Advisory Board for US-Japan Labor Studies, and served two terms as President of the North American-Japan Labor Studies Alumni Association. Bob’s interest in education continued as he participated in numerous IBEW training programs. He served as an advisor and guest lecturer on labor, business and economic issues at Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Notre Dame and the George Meany Labor Studies Center. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid football fan. He enjoyed serving on the Brunswick Family Association Board of Directors helping families in crisis. Surviving are his wife, Diane Barry Stander; 1 daughter, Vicki Jo Buck, Rochester, PA; 2 grandchildren, Kelsey and Kyle Buck; 1 sister, Rose Marie Kadereit, and husband, William, Dallas TX; 1 brother, Maurice Stander, Omaha; and numerous family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Omaha on Thurs., 11/8/07, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Omaha. Clark, Connie Jean
Connie Jean Clark, age 62, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 14, 2007, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Connie was born November 3, 1944, in Council Bluffs, to the late Arthur and Phyllis (Putnam) Wilson. She retired from AT&T, in March of 1994, after 32 years of service. Connie was a member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, it’s Altar Society, and Telephone Pioneers.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Bristol and Nell Howell Crowder, and 2 sisters: Julia Ann Moss and Glada Crowder.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Charles J. Fischer of Omaha, NE, is two sons: Richard Bailey and wife, Kathy; Johnny Bailey and wife, Ann of Mars Hill; and two daughters: Amanda Bailey-McDevitt and Jim of Asheville, and Sandra Euler and husband Timothy of Pasadena, MD. Also surviving are two brothers, Ray Crowder and wife, Louise of Rutherfordton; and Kenneth Crowder and wife, Betty of Swannanoa; and three sisters: Vera Wallin, of Fletcher, Doris Ramsey of Candler, and Wanda Morgan and husband, Fred of Lucoma, NC. Lee is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Parr, Peggy L. 61, of Fremont died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born May 3, 1946, in Crawford to Elmer and Ruby (Kassahn) Wasserberger. She moved with her family from Crawford to Venice in 1955. She attended grade school at District 60 near Crawford and District 24 at Valley. She attended high school in Valley, Gretna and graduated from Waterloo High School. She retired in 1996 after 30-plus years at Western Electric (later AT&T, Lucent Technologies in Omaha). She moved to Fremont in 1982. She was a free-spirited woman who loved motorcycling, camping, boating, golf and dancing. She loved her cats, collecting Elvis memorabilia and koala bears. She is loved and will be missed by all.
She married Richard “Pete” Parr on Dec. 31, 1982, in Las Vegas.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard “Pete” Parr of Fremont; a son, Sparks Gilbert of Illinois; a stepson, Adam (and wife, Jessica) Parr of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; stepdaughter, Jessica (and husband, Justin) Dorn of Kearney; brother, Gary (and wife, Karen) Wasserburger of Valley; sister, Shirley (and husband, LaVerne) Stetson of Lincoln; mother- and father-in-law, Gloria and Sylvester “Vess” Parr of Fremont; three stepgrandchildren: Caleb Dorn, Sierra and Susan Parr; and her special friend, Sandy Cadwallader of Fremont; numerous nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Wasserburger.

He was an avid sportsman enjoying his guns while hunting and trap shooting. He also enjoyed his fishing and his motorcycles. Kenneth J. Olson
Kenneth J. Olson, 80, passed away Friday April 27, 2007 at Chris Jensen in Duluth. He was born to John and Olga Olson in Little Falls, Minn., in 1927. Ken grew up in the country near Little Falls, he loved to hunt and work on cars. They moved to Duluth in 1939, and Ken graduated from Central High School in 1945. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was reactivated for the Korean Conflict. Ken worked for Western Electric as an Industrial Engineer, retiring at age 53. He is preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Robert Olson. Ken is survived by his brother, Robert (Vera) Olson; niece, Elizabeth (Rodney) Bodell; great-niece, Madison Bodell. A special Thank You to the staff at Chris Jensen for their excellent care. Deldine J. Young, 78, of Fremont died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Nye Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fremont.
She was born Jan. 19, 1929, in North Bend to Earl J. and Verna F. (Dunker) Hartmann. She was raised in North Bend and was a North Bend High School graduate. She married Frank S. Young on Oct. 19, 1947, in North Bend. The couple moved to Fremont in the early 1950s and she was employed at Western Electric at Millard, retiring after 29 years. Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 1, 2003.
She was a member of Take OFF Pounds Sensibly (T.O.P.S.)
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda (and husband, Jim) Knoell and Sue (and husband, Greg) Smith, all of Fremont; a son, Jon (and wife, Phyllis) Young of Fremont; a brother, Duane (and wife, Ruby) Hartmann of Fremont; two sisters, Dorsal Knoell and Doris (and husband, Arnold) Rector, all of Fremont; special friend, Louise Edwards of Fremont; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, a sister and a brother.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Tom Shaw of Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with family present from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home. E. Martin “Marty” Hansen, 88, of Fremont died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
He was born Aug. 28, 1918, in Fremont to Martin and Elna (Swendsen) Hansen. He graduated from Fremont High School and attended Midland College. He also attended Hardin College in Texas. He went to work for the Bell Laboratory (which became Western Electric) in Omaha. He retired after 26 years there. He also had served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving in the near east (Egypt, etc.).
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Lions Breakfast Club in Sun City, Calif., Fremont Eagles Aerie 200, Telephone Pioneers of America and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 of Fremont.
Survivors include: a sister, Verna Wallick Anderson of Fremont; and close friends, Allan and Frances Hansen of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helga Anderson.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Norman Freund officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the mortuary. Private burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

JUDDS-Carol C., age 71yrs, of Gretna, NE, passed away 5/13/06. Carol was born in Omaha, NE on 8/12/34, to John O. and Caroline A. (Wittmuss) Cockerill. Carol attended the University of NE-Lincoln, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Carol worked her entire career at Western Electric, later known as AT&T. Carol loved to travel, and took many trips during her retirement, including frequent visits to see her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. When she wasn’t traveling, she enjoyed reading and cooking. She was an avid gardener, and was well known for her beautiful flower and vegetable garden. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Teri (James) Bancroft and her granddaughter, Elizabeth. Also surviving is her sister, Janis McReynolds, and many nieces and nephews.

MARCHELLO-Sara Veronica (Camero), age 88 years, Omaha, loved by many, died of cancer on May 10, 2006. While ill, she refused to give in to pain and discomfort, which was typical of the way she took on everything. Survived by husband of 66 years, Ray; 2 daughters, Linda Marchello and son-in-law, Mike Carroll and Leslie Marchello Peterson and son-in-law, Mike Peterson; grandsons, Drew and Reed Peterson of Omaha, and grandson and wife, Dave Fowler and Joanne Lee, of Baltimore, MD; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and dear friends. Sara was the youngest of 8 children and last of her generation. Active in volunteer work for many causes, Sara sewed doll clothes for disadvantaged children at Christmas, cooked for those in need, and enjoyed volunteering for the Italian American Heritage Society, Modern Italian Americans, Sons of Italy, St. Robert’s Church, and many more. She worked at the Martin Bomber Plant during WW II and retired from Western Electric where she was a member of the IBEW. Sara enjoyed her “second life” as a retiree with enthusiasm. She gardened, entertained, cooked, golfed, sewed and traveled in the conversion van with Ray, family and friends until recently. A life well spent.

RICHLING-Robert R, 78, Weeping Water, died at home on Friday, April 21, 2006. Mr. Richling was born October 26, 1927 in Creighton, NE to Peter and Sophia (Lambert) Richling.
A graduate of high school attended University of Nebraska Lincoln. Serving a year in merchant Marines and 3 years in the Air Force 1945-1949. Retired from AT&T with 31 years of service he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post # 237 and Fraternal Order of Eagles # 367.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Richling; one daughter, son-in-law and grand-daughter; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 5 sisters and wife Dona.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Manley. Visitation will be from 1 – 6 p.m., Tuesday at the Hammons Family Funeral Chapel. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
A second Funeral Mass will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday April 27, at the St. Ludgers Catholic Church, Creighton.

A 10 year Navy veteran, he worked for AT&T and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department before his retirement. Veteran of WWII, where he was awarded the Silver and Bronze Star, the Purple Heart for wounds he received. Retired from Lucent Technologies (Formerly Western Electric) in 1984. On July 11, 1958, he married Betty L. Galloway in Vista, CA.
