Born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 29, 1938. Moved to Council Bluffs Iowa and graduated high school from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1957. After high school he joined the Army for 2 years. After the Army worked at General Electric in Omaha Nebraska and retired after 40 years in 1999. In 1973 he married Linda: they were married for 47 years. Darrell has 4 children, Cherry Lynn (Bruce), Darrin (Dawn), John (Marilee) and Corey (Nanci). Darrell has 3 grandchildren, Robert, Kelsye and Gage.
Darrell lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed his family, but anyone who knows him, knows his passion was the horse track, loving the excitement of each race; monumental races from the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont and Breeders cup. Ready for the start, the gate bell rings, and the intensity of the announcer when they come around the last corner and states “Down the stretch they come” was music to ears.
Darrell also had a lot of stories to tell. He had a punch line for all of them. He would have the whole room laughing and “Oh Darrell” was his audience response. Many afternoons and evenings he would go up to the bowling alley after work and watch football with his coworkers and family. You always knew what team he had to win.
Preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Harriet Lieber; brother, Otto; sisters, Dorothy and Helen; In laws, Robert and Mary Freberg.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda; Sons: Darrin (Dawn) Lieber, John (Marilee) Lieber, Corey (Nanci) Lieber; Daughter Cherry Lynn (Bruce) Gerst; brothers, Walter, Arnold & Ray; Many other relatives and friends.

Jeanine Krogmann, 73, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on December 12, 2020, at the Brookings Hospital. A celebration of Jeanine’s life will be held in the summer of 2021, with burial taking place at Union Cemetery in Flandreau, South Dakota.
Jeanine Mae Krogmann was born on December 22, 1946, at Chester, South Dakota, to Fritz and Nellie (Stokes) Krogmann. She attended country school in Brookings County, graduating from Sioux Valley High School in 1965. Jeanine moved to Omaha and went to work for ATT, which changed names several times. Retiring from her work at ATT, Jeanine went on to work at Oriental Trade part-time.
Following her retirement from Oriental Trade, Jeanine was able to spend time doing the things she enjoyed most. She was an avid John Wayne collector, frequently traveling to Winterset, Iowa to participate in the annual John Wayne Celebrations. Jeanine also enjoyed reading.
Jeanine is survived by one brother, Arlyn Krogman; three sisters: Reva Krogmann, Judean (Judi) Hewitt, and Mariann (Bob) Kampmann; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Curtis, and a sister, Marlys.

passed away from Covid complications.
He is preceded in death by his wife Vera Gau, parents, brother Wayne Gau and sister Janet Gau.
He is survived by his sisters Monica Clark and Jackie Berdine, brothers Dennis Gau and Leonard Gau, daughter Sheryl (Tim) Healy and son David (Tracey) Gau of Colorado, granddaughters Jessica (Justin) Setlik, Jamie (Yibran) Mercado, Casey (Shea) Shiley, Grace Gau, and Jacqueline Gau. Great Grandchildren Liam and Lexi Setlik.
Jerry was born in Westphalia, Iowa, to the late Cornelius and Leona Gau. The family moved to South Omaha when he was 9 years old and he attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and then South High School. He was inducted into the army in 1953, completed basic training, leadership training, promoted to Corporal of Battery 89th AAA Ft Meade, Maryland and was honorably discharged in 1955. Jerry married Vera Geldis September 14, 1957 and they were married for 49 years until her death in 2006. He went to trade school to become a tool & die maker. He worked for Western Electric/Lucent for over 30 years until retirement. He was ordained a Deacon April 1st, 1979 by Archbishop Daniel Sheehan and spent 31 years in active spiritual service to countless constituents.
Jerry loved to travel to the western states, especially the mountains of Colorado. He and Vera retraced the entire steps of the Lewis and Clark Trail. He also traveled to the Holy Land with Fr. Pat and other Deacons and loved his trip to South Africa with his friend Tom.
He also loved trains, planes, hiking, reading, and coaching youth sports. He was the ultimate handyman and extravert. He made many friends along his life journey and will be missed by all who knew him.

Judith Ann Roucka, age 80, passed away December 2, 2020, due to advanced diabetes, kidney disease and dementia complicated by Covid-19. Born August 9, 1940 to Evans and Edith (Treadway) Vlasak.
Judy grew up in Columbus NE, graduating from Columbus High School. She married Lyle J. Roucka in July 1960. She went to work at Western Electric in 1968 and retired from the same company, then known as Avaya, after 35 years.
Judy was a loving, generous, kind and caring person She cherished her time with family, and truly enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, music, and growing plants with her amazing green thumb. Judy couldn’t resist a good craft show and never came home empty-handed. She had a great talent with knitting needles and a crochet hook, sharing her beautiful handcrafted blankets, stocking caps, scarves, and dishcloths and potholders with family and friends. She really liked country living and had many beloved pets. Judy’s intelligence, sense of humor and accepting nature were appreciated by all who knew her. She was the center of our family and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Mike, Jim, Jon and Patricia. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, her children Diane Roucka and Steven (Diana) Roucka; grandchildren Matthew, Tyler, Megan and Colton; sister Christine (Richard) Shanahan, brothers Tom (Joyce) and Richard (Julie) Vlasak; In-laws Karen Gay, Darlene (Milo) Divis, James (Rose) Roucka; and many nieces and nephews.

He was born on June 19, 1941 to Gloy Raymond and Leota Alice (Stapleton) Porter in Omaha, NE. George was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He met Diana and they were later married on December 22, 1969 in Glenwood, IA. George and Diana made their home and raised their children in Bellevue. George had worked as a machinist at Avaya Communications.

RoseMary was born on December 27th, 1952 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Eugene and Ethel Zelfel. She attended Queen of Apostles and graduated from St. Albert High School in 1971. She is a longstanding member of St. Robert Bellarmine in Omaha. RoseMary retired from Avaya as an Engineer after 42 years of service. Her husband remembers her as a loving wife, great companion, who enjoyed spending all of our time together often taking rides throughout the countryside. Her children remember her as a hardworking, attentive, and loving mother. RoseMary especially loved her role as nana and treasured every moment with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3rd, 5-8pm, Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. On Friday, December 4th, a private funeral will be held. Immediately following all are welcome to attend and celebrate RoseMary’s life graveside at a 2pm service, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 1350 E. Pierce Street, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jane was born Dec. 23, 1949, in Battle Lake, Minnesota, to Abner and Rosella (Pederson) Walvatne. She graduated from Battle Lake High School. Jane married Charles “Chuck” Bohline in 1973. She retired from Lucent Technology in 2000. Jane enjoyed spending time with her son’s family and volunteering at Nye Pointe Nursing Home.
Jane is survived by her son, Todd (Amy) Willenbring, and granddaughters, Samantha and Peyton of Omaha; her brothers, Allen and Roger (Karen) of Battle Lake, and Mike of Minneapolis.

On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, Irish Donahoo passed away at his home at the age of 90. He was surrounded by his family. Born in his home on February 17,1930, in Lincoln, NE to Paul and Bertha (Barnett) Donahoo, Irish was a life-long native of Lincoln, NE, and never moved far from his hometown. He was hardworking, a talented musician, frugal, and happy. He graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1949 where he was voted the captain of his high school football team. On August 16, 1953, he married Betty Jean (Sharpnack). Betty and Irish raised their children in the first home they bought in 1957 and made this their lifelong home where he spent his final hours. Prior to a 40+ year career with Western Electric, Irish was employed by Miller & Paine. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #210, a Shriner, past commander of Mount Moriah Commandery 4 and member of Starcraft Chapter #307, OES.
He began his love for the steel guitar at the age of 8. He was inducted into America’s Old Time Music Hall of Fame on October 6, 2012. He was the founding member of The Cornhusker Music Club in Louisville, NE. He was a member of multiple bands including The Country Outlaws, Rawhide, Country Caravan, and Country Pride, giving him the opportunity to play his steel guitar at numerous venues in Eastern Nebraska and Kansas. He had many offers to go play his steel guitar professionally, but he chose to stay in Lincoln to raise a family. He played all his instruments by ear, including the dobro, the mandolin, and guitar. He attended and performed with professional steel guitar musicians at The National Steel Guitar Convention over Labor Day weekends in St. Louis, MO, for several years, traveling with his wife and friends. He met and performed with Patsy Montana and Joe and Roselee Maphis. He had the honor of meeting and performing with Ernest Tubbs, steel guitar player.
He loved traveling to their cabin in Minnesota in their motorhome. Spending many summer weeks in Minnesota with his family. Later in his life, he enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with his family and friends. He always ended his phone calls with “I love you, bye-bye.”
He was preceded in death by Betty Jean, his wife of 49 years, and survived by daughters: Sandy L Spooner(Terry), Patricia A Schmidt (Greg) all of Lincoln, NE. Sons: Jon (Linda) of Georgetown, FL, and Robert (Jolin) of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Llyod and Wilma Donahoo, Millard, NE, sister-in-law Priscilla Sharpnack, Greenwood, NE. Grandchildren Shannon Donahoo, Mikayla Obermier, Nash Schmidt, Sydney, Sawyer, and Sloan Donahoo, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Mary Woodcock friend and neighbor of 78 years and Donna Matthes. He was known as Papa to Nash, Sydney, Sawyer, and Sloan. Sydney described her Papa as loving. Sawyer described her Papa as caring. Sloan described his Papa as dynamic, sociable, and affectionate. Papa called Sloan his little “Irishman.” He called Sydney and Sawyer his sweeties.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Wesley, sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Gene Kalkwarf, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marilyn and John Erickson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth “Lee” and Mary Sharpnack, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Laverna and Chuck Donahoo, brother-in-law Joseph Clyde Sharpnack Jr.

Ronald Lee Brock, age 82 of Lake Waconda, Union, NE formerly of Louisville, NE passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.
Ron was born on June 26, 1938 at Auburn, NE to Orville W. and Esther M. (Hahn) Brock. He attended school at Auburn, Falls City, Nebraska City and graduated from Peru Prep in 1957. Ron attended 1 year of college at Peru State Teachers College. On March 14, 1959 he was married to Barbara Ann Groff at Bethel Community Church in Rural Auburn. They raised three children, Deborah Lynne, Theresa Anne and Raymond Lee.
Ron spent 42 years working for Western Electric in Omaha. He served on the village board and the fire department in Murdock. He worked part-time at the Elkhorn Grain Elevator. Ron loved being outside fishing, pheasant hunting, watching the grandchildren’s events and cars.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Lake Waconda, Union, NE, children. Deb (Mark) Hrabik of Syracuse, Theresa (Cal) Jacobs of Elkhorn, Ray (Nicole) Brock of Louisville; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Esther Brock
Public visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home (Masks Required).
Private Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Louisville, NE with Rev. Bob Wynn officiating. The public may livestream the service on the Funeral Home Facebook Page (link above).

Waldo “Wally” S. Leander Sr., age 88, of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Brayton, Iowa, to Walter and Marie (Gjodsen) Leander.
Wally grew up at Brayton and Atlantic, Iowa, area and graduated from Atlantic High School. He raced micro midget race cars in Atlantic. He served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 17, 1952, to Aug. 29, 1956, during Korea. Wally married Doris Kinen on Nov. 23, 1957, at Atlantic. They lived at Gretna, Nebraska, from 1957 until 1971. He worked for Western Electric in Omaha from 1958 to 1993 when he retired. He lived at Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, and also farmed while still working. After retirement he started his own small engine repair shop and worked part time for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was very involved with their union and became a union steward. They moved to Fremont in October of 2020.
Wally was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs and was the Vice President of the Omaha Square Dance Organization.
Wally is survived by his wife, Doris of Fremont; sons, Waldo “Wally Jr.” (Terri) Leander of Hiawatha, Kansas, and David (Lourdes) Leander of Fremont; daughter, Deanna (Rick) Brakhage of Tobias, Nebraska; brother, Dale (Judy) Leander of Atlantic; sister, Lois (Maynard) Paul of Burnsville, Minnesota; 4 grandchildren, 1 stepgrandson and 7 great-grandchildren; 2 stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in law.
The Memorial Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs. Rev. Fr. Cole Kennett will officiate. A Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, also at church. Military honors will follow the Mass outside the church. Due to COVID restrictions there will not be a reception.

Richard Jon Casebeer was born on May 1, 1966 in Omaha, Nebraska. Growing up, he looked up to and adored his two older brothers, Mike and Dan. Rick enjoyed playing soccer and his father, Casey, was his coach. Along with a love for soccer, Rick and his dad loved watching NASCAR races together.
In his early twenties, you would find Rick in the DJ booth at Skateland. He was the most popular DJ, even if he did embarrass his niece, Shannon, when she was there with her friends from time to time.
Rick was always an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. On game days, you would find him in his “game day gear” ready to cheer on his beloved teams. Aside from football, Rick loved golf. He played every opportunity he could. If he couldn’t play golf, he would watch golf on television, especially the Masters, which he watched up until the last days of his life.
On December 21, 2001, Rick wed Caroline. Rick and Carol blended their families: Rick’s two children, Colby and Tori, with Carol’s two children, Ashley and Blake, along with Carol’s niece, Swan.
Rick was always jamming and loved to sing, especially to Carol. He would serenade Elton John’s “Your Song” to her and called it her song. He even shared his voice with the masses as lead singer of SideCar69, with his band brothers. For several years, you would find them headlining a show with a huge following in Omaha and surrounding areas.
Rick passed away November 12, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. While his life was cut short, his memory will live on forever with those who knew and, inevitably, loved

LeRoy was born December 7, 1934 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to William and Alice ‘Roettger’ Robb. He was raised in the Missouri Valley area until the family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin where he graduated high school. After high school he served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. After his military service he moved to Omaha and worked for Western Electric until he retired.
In 1962 he married Rodelle Thompson and together they had 3 children, they later divorced. In 1969 LeRoy moved to the Bennington/Arlington area.
LeRoy was a member of the VFW Post 8332 of Arlington.

Larry was born on November 6, 1934 on the home place Walthill, the son of Richard and Nellie (Christensen) Tremayne. graduated from Walthill High school in 1952.
Larry farmed in the Walthill area from 1952-1955, then moved to Rockford , IL and worked in a machine shop for W.F. and John Banes from 1955-1957.
Larry joined the Army in 1957, he was with 1281Signal Corp until 1959.
He then worked for Western Electric in Omaha, NE until 1961, when he was called back into the Army. He was with 140111 signal Corp until 1962. After returning home, he returned to his job at Western Electric in Omaha and gave 41 years of service. He retired in 2000. Larry was very proud and honored to have served in the US Army for our great Nation, and equally proud to have served in the workforce for 41 years. Larry was proud of his high school football career accomplishments. He was congratulated by Nebraska Governor Val Peterson in 1951, on his being chosen for the All-State Football Squad his Junior year. The enjoyment of football continued throughout his life. Larry was instrumental along with other windmill enthusiasts in bringing the Windmill Convention to Nebraska , where he was able to showcase his amazing collection of windmill weights along with other collectors.
Larry loved to visit, and he never met a stranger, he could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a wealth of information on several topics and if he did not know about something he would read and research until he knew. Larry was an avid antique and collectibles pursuer. He loved the history and the stories that accompanied many of his treasures . Larry was well rounded and enjoyed many activities of which included, traveling, his collection of windmill weights and the windmill admirers he became lifelong friends with, square dancing, rodeos and learning, always learning and sharing that knowledge with the many friends and acquaintances he met along life’s highway. Larry loved spending time with family, he enjoyed talking about a plethora of topics and had many stories to share.
Larry is survived by his sister-in-law, Sharon Tremayne of Sioux City, IA; nephews, Tom (Diana) Sharp, of Batavia, IL, Dennis “Jake” (Sandy) Tremayne of Walthill, NE, Dan (Paula) Tremayne of Trenton, GA, Randy (Lori) Tremayne of Homer, NE; niece, Tammy Mohnson of Homer, NE; 7 great nephews; 2 great nieces; 7 great-great nephews ; 2 great-great meces. Paul Peitzmeier, Sr age 83 of Yutan, NE, died at Compassionate Memory Care in Omaha on Monday, October 26, 2020. He was born the son of Paul Henry and Rose Mary (Erhart) Peitzmeier on June 26, 1937 in St. Patrick’s, Missouri. He graduated from the St. Patrick’s High School.
Paul was united in marriage to Laura J. George on November 14, 1959 at Nebraska City, Nebraska during a blizzard. For many years, Paul was a Machinist for AT&T in Omaha.
Paul, the meaning “humble” and “small”. The definition is suiting, however, not definitive of his love for his wife, children and family. Paul’s love extended many directions in the outdoors where he traveled to Valentine for deer hunting and enjoyed many camping trips that extended to Yellowstone National Park, camping with family in Missouri and Illinois as well as outings close to home at local lakes and campgrounds.
Beyond Paul’s love of the outdoors, he enjoyed playing pool, bowling and countless hours on his CB radio under the call name Country Kicker. His favorite past time though, was playing his guitars either alone or with friends…yes, the good ol days!
Paul was forced to slow down 21 years ago after a stroke nearly ended his life and altering his way of life for his remaining years. Paul embraced a much slower pace and embraced his love of majestic eagles, and watching the playful squirrels and birds outside his window.
Your friendly visiting birds and squirrels have gone with you.. now Paul, you can rest your eyes.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Paul Henry and Rose Mary (Erhart) Peitzmeier; brother, Robert; sisters, Delores Paul and Mercedes Long. Bill was born Oct. 28, 1929 to Henry and Lillian Plugge in Kennard. Bill married Margaret Mackeprang, on August 26, 1950. Here they lived and raised their children. He worked at Safeway and Western Electric. Bill was known for his great stories and making friends all over. He loved life, sports and hunting. Especially if that sport had grandkids or great-grandkids involved.
He is survived by 3 children: Linda (Jim) Olson, TX., Thomas (Tina) Plugge, MO., And Laurie Daly, NE. 5 GrandKids: Douglas (Kaylin) Olson, TX. Sonja (Kevin) Schettler, KS. Thomas (Kelsey) Plugge, MO. Thomas (Terry) Daly, NE. Joshua (Tonya) Daly, NE. 13 Great-Grandkids and one Sister-in-law.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Lilly, wife Margaret, brother Robert, one Grandchild and one Great-grandchild, along with 10 in-laws and 4 nephews.

Norma J. Konwinski, 69, of Yutan, Nebraska passed away October 6, 2020 at her home in Yutan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on October 24, 2020 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek, Nebraska. Private family burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery will take place at a later date.
The family will celebrate Norma’s life following Mass and invite everyone to watch the Husker football game and enjoy a catered lunch in the Parish hall. Everyone is welcome to wear Husker attire. Masks are requested, per CDC guidelines.
Norma was born on March 4, 1951 to Joseph and Florence (Kontor) Konwinski in Nance County, Nebraska. She grew up in Silver Creek where she graduated High School in 1969. After graduation, Norma resided in Columbus, Nebraska for a few years. She then purchased an acreage in Yutan. Norma was an owner and trainer of race horses for several years. She enjoyed horse races, fishing, hunting and Nebraska football.
She is survived by: her sister Marian (Charles) Smith, sister-in-law Elaine Konwinski, several Nieces and Nephews

Bill Witte was born in Wahoo, Nebraska on July 16, 1941 the son of Clarence and Leona (Mumm) Witte. His family farmed outside of Yutan, NE and Bill attended country school. He loved sports and played football, basketball, and ran track during his high school career at Yutan High School.
After he graduated, He started working for Western Electric in 1959. Bill joined the Air National Guard in his twenties. In 1970, Bill married Marilyn Zwiebel and they had two children, Kyle and Colleen. Bill was a wonderful father and could be found supporting his children at all of their activities. He volunteered as a coach on his children’s baseball, basketball, and soccer teams.
Bill was an avid runner and ran a marathon the year he turned 50. In 2001, Bill retired and started on a new adventure as a school bus driver and became a grandfather for the first time. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports. In addition to traveling to watch the grandkids, He loved talking Husker football and with his son and his brother. Bill liked spending time with his siblings. Some of his most cherished memories were those times he spent going to lunch with Sharon, Connie, Jim, and Barb.
Bill died at his home in Omaha on Thursday, October 8, 2020. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarence and Leona Witte; and his brother, Roger Witte. His is survived by: his wife, Marilyn Witte of Omaha; son, Kyle Witte, and his wife Lori and their children Ryan, Haeleigh, and Dax of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Colleen Comer, and her husband Dan and their children Tatum, Emmett, and Isla of Clarinda, IA; a brother, James Witte and his wife Barb of Yutan; and sisters, Sharon Miller of Elkhorn and Connie Witte of Wahoo.

Lloyd was born on July 27, 1943 in Brushyknob, MO to Walter and Hazel Gray. Along with his parents, he and his younger siblings, Donald and Alice lived in Missouri until he was 10 years old and they moved to Nebraska.
Lloyd attended school in Louisville, NE and graduated in 1962. When he was 18 years old, he met the love of his life, Barbara Wiegert and they were united in marriage on June 6, 1964. Lloyd and Barbara were blessed with three children, Lisa, Michael and Kelly.
Lloyd worked at Western Electric (Avaya) for 38 years in a number of different roles in the cable shop. As a young man Lloyd enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and camping trips with his family at Memphis Lake. He and Barbara also enjoyed bowling and were on a league with his parents for several years. He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church for 44 years and took great pride in his duties as an usher. He and Barbara attended all their grandchildren’s many sporting events and they also loved to travel. Two of their favorite trips were an Alaskan cruise and a 16-day trip to Europe to celebrate their 50th Anniversary with the highlight being a visit to the Vatican. Although Lloyd had many interests, family was always the most important thing to him.
He was deeply loved by many and will be sorely missed. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle nature, infectious smile and big bear hugs.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; daughter Lisa Goldsmith (Robert) of Omaha, NE; son Michael Gray (Kristie) of Omaha, NE, and daughter Kelly Epperson (David) of Marathon, FL, grandchildren Matt, Erika, Jordan, Brittany, Nathan, Nolan; great-grandchildren Eliza, Hayden, Rhett, Grayson, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great granddaughter Saige Choquette.

Reginald “Reg” R. Yates, 89 of Ashland, NE passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1931 in Mount Ayr, IA to Wayne and Eula (Neff) Yates. He graduated from Creston High School in Creston, IA in 1949 and attended Drake University. Reg served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on November 30, 1952. He remained in the Air Guard Reserve until 1959. He was united in marriage on July 30, 1950 to Patricia L. Whitney at the First Presbyterian Church in Creston, IA. From this union three children were born, Joyce, Jim and Janet. After a long battle with cancer on August 11, 1993 Patricia passed away. Reg later married Betty Ballou of Ashland who passed away in 2011. Reg retired from Western Electric as a Computer Project Engineer after 35 years of faithful service. After retirement he worked at Mahoney State Park and SAC Museum.
Reg was an active member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, Comet Lodge #229 AF & AM Masonic Lodge, Men in Missions, Shriners, American Legion #129, VFW #9776, Disabled Veterans and spent 25 years on the Ashland Greenwood School Board.
He enjoyed playing in the Shrine band and orchestra, golfing, piloting airplanes, traveling and latch hooking rugs for his family. In his later years he enjoyed spending time and dancing with special friend, Marilyn Wright.

John D. Rogers, 72 years, of Nickerson, Nebraska, passed away Friday, Sep. 18, 2020, at his home.
John was born July 8, 1948, to John W. and Viola (Osborne) Rogers in Omaha, Nebraska. John was born and raised in Omaha. He served in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 26, 1968, to Jan. 17, 1972. In November of 1971, he married Betty Ann Crain in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He worked for Western Electric until his retirement in 2013.
John was a huge Husker fan. He loved building model cars and was quite crafty.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Betty (Scott) Gossett; sons, Michael (Melissa) Rogers, Timothy Rogers; sisters, Caren (Teri) York, Diane (Norm) Vogel; brother, Daniel Rogers; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Harold Jean Slaight, age 91, passed away from complications of COVID on September 9, 2020. He and his twin brother Gerald were born in rural Astoria, IL on September 10, 1928 to Lloyd and Faye (Brainard) Slaight. He graduated from Lewistown, IL High School, the University of Illinois with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and an MBA from Creighton University.
He married his college sweetheart, Ann Larsen in 1952. After Harold completed his military service as an Army First Lieutenant in Korea, they moved to Omaha where he worked as a senior engineer at Western Electric for 36 years. They took their three children on annual trips traveling across America and visiting extended family in central Illinois. He loved to play bridge, and played several times a week with his friends at Immanuel Village.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; daughter, Susan; two brothers and their spouses. He is survived by sons, Tom Slaight and wife Marsha from Springfield MO, and Greg Slaight and wife Dianne from Coppell, TX; son-in-law Chris Clark of Peachtree City, GA. He had six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Richard G. Iaffaldano, age 87, died at home in Naples, FL on Sept. 4, 2020 after a long illness. Formerly of Chicago IL, River Forest IL, Omaha NE, and Dunwoody GA. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Married to LaVerne nee Cutro “Dr. I” for 65 years. They were blessed with three children: Michelle (George Graef) of Lincoln, NE; Robert (Kimberly Herling) of Hinsdale, IL; and Frank (Barbara Curry) of Pasadena, CA and seven grandchildren: Michael, Lindsay, Nicholas, Jack, Rachel, Caroline, and Kristen. Richard was well-respected as a kind and generous man, who shared freely of his time and talents and modeled for his children how to live his faith as a devoted spouse and loving father.
He was a graduate of Santa Maria Addolorata elementary and St. Ignatius High School, Chicago IL; St. Procopius College (Benedictine University), Lisle IL; MBA graduate studies at U. of Chicago. Served in U.S. Army Artillery Corps during Korean conflict. Devoted his entire career to working in the Bell Telephone system, beginning as an Engineer at Western Electric, Hawthorne Works in Cicero, IL; continuing as Manager of Engineering at the Omaha, NE Works; and ultimately retiring as Director of Engineering, Human Resources and Manufacturing for AT&T, Atlanta Works, Norcross, GA.
Richard was a Knight Commander with Star of the Papal Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem; member and Eucharistic Minister at All Saints Catholic Church, Dunwoody GA, and St. William Catholic Church, Naples, FL. He served on the Finance Board and Parish Council of All Saints Church, Dunwoody, GA.
Among many volunteer positions over his lifetime, Richard served on the Council of Advisors for Gwinnett Technical Institute in GA. He enjoyed working with young people as a tutor at numerous schools and community centers in Omaha, NE, Atlanta, GA, and Naples FL. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and served on the Board of Directors, Westgate Homeowners Association, and numerous committees at Moorings Golf and Country Club, Naples, FL.
Preceded in death by mother and father, Anna (Russo) and Frank Iaffaldano; brother and sister-in-law, Dominic (Rosemary); and sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie (Harry Toyser).

Donald was a 1951 graduate of Scottsbluff High School and graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1955.
He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He received his MBA from

Kathleen Jane Landrum was born February 4, 1950 to Arthur and Adelaide Mitchell in Omaha, NE. Kathy was the third child born to the union. She attended Lake, Long and Kellom Elementary Schools and Technical Jr and Senior High Schools where she graduated in 1968.
In that same year she met the love of her life, Leroy Landrum, and they were later married on February 5, 1972. To that union their two wonderful sons, Leroy and Lance Landrum were born.
Kathleen received Christ early in life, devoting her time whenever and wherever needed in the church.
Kathy was a hard working woman, her first job was at King Restaurant and later moved onto Western Electric where she gave them 40 years of service and ultimately retired in 2011 after the company changed its name to Connectivity Solutions. Kathy was a family woman, she loved spending time with everyone but enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren the most.
Kathy was a kind and loving woman and shared her poise personality with whomever she came in contact with whomever she came in contact with and her legacy will carry on.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Adelaide Mitchell; her Father and mother-N-Love, Leon and Leslie Landrum; three sisters; 2 brothers; and a brother-N-Love.

David Bailey Sr. was born June 13, 1941 in Barlow, Mississippi to Eddie Bailey Sr. and Madonia Viola Martin. He departed this life, July 30, 2020. David attended school in Barlow until he was a teenager. In 1958 he moved with his younger siblings to Omaha, Nebraska. He attended and graduated from Technical High School.
David started singing and dancing at an early age. He loved music and it played an especially important role in his life. He also played guitar. He joined Salem Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Later he sang in a band with his brother Joe called the Gospel Travelers.
David was the former spouse of Vina Bailey (Williams) and from that union five children, David Jr., Vanessa, Terence, Lisa, and Tony were born. The two remained amicable after their union. David was preceded in death by Vina. During his life David worked as a bus driver for the city of Omaha driving for Metro Transit for thirty years. He also did car restoration with his brother Joe at his car shop. After retiring he went back to work for Omaha Public Schools as a bus driver part-time. He will be remembered for his charming personality, beautiful singing voice, and love for cars.
David was preceded in death by his mother Madonia Viola Martin, father Eddie Bailey Sr, siblings Ruby Lee Bailey, Nannie Lee Bailey Briscoe, Crissie Ree Bailey Chalmers, Eddie Bailey, Jr, William L. Robert “Bob” F. Schueth, 85 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at Dunklau Gardens. He was born January 19, 1935 in Humphrey, NE to Leo and Gertrude (Schrage) Schueth.
Robert grew up in Humphrey, graduated St. Francis High School in 1953 and his secondary education was at Milford. He married Lois J. Ottis in Humphrey, NE on December 1, 1956. She passed away April 11, 2017. Robert was employed by General Wholesale in Norfolk, NE, Western Electric in Omaha, bar tended for Sunshine Tavern in Fremont and retired from Lucent Technology, Omaha, in 1999.
He was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church, where he was a frequent usher and a longtime member of the Fremont Eagles Club.
Robert is survived by his sons; Tim (Carolyn ) Schueth and Todd (Kristi) Schueth all of Fremont, NE; brother Eugene (Ardith) Schueth of Humphrey, NE; grandchildren, Mandi, Nathan, Kali, Alicia, Cassie, and Madison, and nine great-grandchildren.

Frank left the Omaha Works to head up the WE service and distribution center in Pleasanton, CA. Then into sales. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date.

Frank was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska where he was a gifted student-athlete at Archbishop Ryan High School earning All-Metro honors in football and basketball. His favorite sport activity was joining his wife in watching, cheering and supporting his children and grandchildren for over 50 years.
Frank was a dedicated and loyal sales executive at Western Electric/AT&T in Omaha and later in Overland Park for 37 years and was fortunate enough to retire at the age of 57. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date.

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Agnes (Boese) Hilt of Leavenworth, Kansas announces her passing on July 24, 2020 at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Ruby was born November 1, 1935 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Anna (Enns) and Elmer Boese. They moved to the Hillsboro area when Ruby was 8 years old. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1953, then attended college at Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Nebraska where she met and married Garry L. Hilt on November 27, 1957.
She retired from Western Electric after working there for over 30 years. After a few years of retirement she worked for Allstate Insurance in Millard, Nebraska and later for Allstate Insurance in Olathe, Kansas.
Ruby enjoyed traveling, reading, singing with the Sweet Adelines and her friends in the Red Hat Society.
Ruby returned to Hillsboro for a time where she was involved in many activities, She served on the Hillsboro Public Library Board, Hillsboro Senior Center Board and the Marion County Senior Board. She also sang in the Hillsboro M.B. church choir.
She moved to Leavenworth, Kansas because of health reasons and to be closer to her son and his family.
Ruby will be remembered by her son Gerald L. Hilt, daughter-in-law Beth J. Hilt and her three grandchildren Dustin (Melissa) Hilt, Kate-Lyn A. (EJ) Corneau, Cody W. Hilt and three great-grandchildren, Adriana, Jakob and Keagan. Her five sisters, Alice Christensen, Esther (Harvey) Seim, Rosalie (Bill) Brewer, Clara (Vernon) Hiebert, Yolanda Bartel and many nieces and nephews.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Anna Boese, husband Garry L Hilt and a sister Helen Duerksen (on May 6, 2020).
Inurnment was August 15, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.

Laurel was a longtime resident of Bennington, Nebraska. He retired after 25 years at Western Electric. In 1975 he moved to Riverside Lakes, Waterloo, and nine years later moved to Tucson, Arizona.
Laurel was preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, Darlene (Novotny); and son Curtis. He was the last survivor of eight children born to Will and Lillian Fletcher. Laurel is survived by his children: Ron Fletcher, Bill Fletcher (Sharon), and Vicki Hahn (Sig); thirteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by loving father, W.P. (Babe) and mother, Elsie Peters, Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. Survived by his Aunt, Dorothy Zymola, Cousins, and many friends.
Born in the spring of 1948 Bill was welcomed into this world by loving, doting parents. As their only child Bill received all the love and support they had to give. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of eight and lived with all of the ups and downs that diabetes gives a person. His faith in God encouraged him to accept “The cards he had been dealt” as God’s plan for him. Which made him one of the most kind, caring humans to walk among us.
He graduated from U.N.O. with a degree in Engineering and Architecture. Winning several awards for his designs.
His career began at HDR. After working there for a few years, he left HDR and went to work for Western Electric / A.T.& T. After several name changes throughout his employment he retired from the company known as Avaya in 2003.
Throughout his life he was active in several organizations. The Knights of Columbus where he was promoted to 3rd and 4th degree Knight, The American Legion Post 331 SAL, The Pioneers Club, The A.T.&T. Sportsman’s Club, and several others.
Bill’s philanthropy was appreciated by many private organizations, and all of his volunteer work in the community as well.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and photography. His enjoyment and dedication to his hobbies was unsurpassed.
His love and devotion to his faith and family will be missed by all who knew him.
Due to COVID-19 Private Family Services. VIGIL SERVICE: Saturday, July 18th, 10am followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 11am. INTERMENT: Bohemian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Warren James Ford was born on March 20, 1934, in Falls City, Nebraska, to James Edward and Naomi Francis (Hunn) Ford. He went to be with his Lord on June 28, 2020, at his home at the age of 86 years.
Warren moved to the Omaha area around the age of 11. Warren married Nadine Shields and to this union five children were born: Kathy, Brenda, James, Ronald and Warren II.
Warren enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. He served during the Korean War on the USS Iowa. In 1953, while in the Navy, he won the Navy Batcaulant Boxing Championship for his weight class. Warren was a Golden Gloves Boxer. In 1956, he won a Regional Olympic Tournament and went on to compete in the Olympic Trials.
Warren married Bobbie Speake on July 30, 1973. From this union came two children: Kaye and Gerry. Warren worked for Electrolux and then AT&T, retiring from there in 1992. During retirement he worked for Hertz and H&R Block. In 1997, Warren and Bobbie moved to Moorhead, Iowa. While there he served as the treasurer for the city council.
Warren enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, playing cards and vacationing with the family. He was a die-hard Nebraska football fan. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Minnesota. Warren always had a nickname for everyone.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bobbie of Moorhead; children, Kathy Carr of Colorado, Brenda Ford of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ronald Ford and Warren Ford II (Shirley) all of Omaha, Nebraska, Kaye Conn (Kief) of Papillion, Nebraska, and Gerry Ford (Melissa) of Omaha; 17 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Patricia M. Nicholson age 79 of Fremont passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont. She was born June 4, 1941 in Fremont to William and Alice (Neff) Bauers.
Patricia worked at Western Electric (Avaya) in Omaha for many years. She was also past president of the IBEW also in Omaha. She married Eugene “Nick” Nicholson on December 6, 1959 in Fremont. They wintered in Sun City Arizona for many years. Nick preceded her in death on October 26, 2018.
Survivors include her sons, Paul (Diane) Nicholson of Omaha and David Nicholson (Joyce LeQuesne) of Nevada; brother, David (Sonja) Bauers of Fremont and grandchildren William Nicholson and Valerie (Bradley) Moran.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, William Bauers.
There are no services planned at this time. She will be interred with her husband at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota.

LaVonne Amanda Meisinger was born July 10, 1934 in South Bend Nebraska to Harley and Amanda (Borneman) Meisinger. She died at her home in Louisville Nebraska and was found Friday June 12, 2020.
LaVonne graduated from High School in Weeping Water, Nebraska and went on to work many years at Western Electric. She enjoyed life- from spoiling her nieces and nephews with buckets of candy on Easter and Halloween, or bringing them stuffed animals from the Claw Machine. LaVonne enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews along to Husker football games or Omaha Lancer hockey. She loved listening to Elvis and Selena Perez music. LaVonne collected elephants. She was an Avon lady. She loved western wear – belt buckles and cowboy hats, and had popcorn tins full of watches.
LaVonne is survived by her brother, Wilbur Meisinger of Louisville, Nebraska, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
LaVonne is proceeded by her parents, Harley and Amanda Meisinger, Brothers, Gene and Dale.

He grew up on a farm east of St. Edward and attended rural grade school. Wes graduated from St. Edward High School in 1958. He soon moved to Omaha and began working at Western Electric. He married Kathryn Anderson on October 9, 1960. They enjoyed over 59 years of marriage together.
Wes was a loyal, honest, good man. He was a good provider for his family and worked many part time jobs in the in evenings, which allowed Kathy to stay at home with Kurt and Kelly when they were young. Even with extra jobs, and the night shift most of his working life, Wes found time to coach Kurt and Kelly’s baseball and softball teams, as well as attend their many activities growing up.
Wes retired from Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) in 2000 after 41 years of service with the company. During retirement he served on the SID Board and Townhome Board. He and Kathy were avid Husker fans, and enjoyed traveling with friends and family to many Husker football games. They enjoyed their many bus trips across the country. He belonged to a card club for more than 35 years, took in many productions at OCP, and the Lofte Theatre in Manley. He loved classic country music and saw many of these entertainers live over the years.
Wes and Kathy were very much a pair throughout their marriage. Where you saw one of them, the other was not far behind. He was devoted to his family and was very proud of his grandchildren. He loved having his family around, and although quiet, he was very observant and you needed to listen or you might miss his wit and humor. He was kind to everyone and willing to help with whatever anyone needed.
Wes was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

David Lloyd Barnhart, age 67, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in Omaha.
David was born December 2, 1952 and lived most of his life in Omaha. He was an enthusiastic boy scout and earned his Eagle Scout rank. He graduated from Westside High School in 1971 and took classes at the University of Nebraska Omaha. He retired from Western Electric after more than 30 years of service in the plant.
David enjoyed many hobbies, including reading science fiction and history, working on cars and tractors and building model railroad displays. He was an avid lover of road trips, the mountains, Coca-Cola and cigarettes. He was quite the character, and always left a lasting impression wherever he went.
David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Barnhart. He is survived by his ex-wife Terri Knoble and two daughters, Dawn (Knoble) Rasmussen [Blake] and Tristin Barnhart [Cody Rice], as well as sister Nancy (Barnhart) Hutton [Ken] and brother Steven Barnhart [Carrie] and their families. No memorial service is being held at this time.

Albert was raised in Omaha and graduated from Omaha South High School with the class of 1952. He had a 37 year career with Western Electric Company in Omaha as a Machinist. He was united in marriage to Norma J. Thieking on August 1, 1982 in Omaha. They eventually made their home in rural Plattsmouth. He enjoyed reading, gardening and cars.

Life Story On Wednesday, May 6, 2020 Elizabeth (Betty) passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children and husband Mr. Donald Rowland. Betty had six children in her first marriage to Manuel R. Ariza: Debra Ondar (Pablo), Denise Muck, (David), Ricardo Ariza (Patricia), Liz Ariza, Michael Ariza (Julie) and Marie Clark (Jerome). 19 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She grew up on a farm in rural Nebraska with her parents: Frank and Rose Rothanzl. Her siblings included Eileen, Ed, John, Jim and Dick. She developed culinary skills in Czech and Mexican cuisine. She enjoyed painting, gardening, artistic crafts, sewing and sharing stories about her life. Her loving spirit embraced all of humanity. A few of her favorite service projects included the Mary Madeline Project which provided burial gowns to infants who passed at birth and she spent endless hours sewing walker bags and lap quilts for the elderly in nursing homes. She crocheted hats and quilted blankets for veterans and homeless shelters. She truly embraced being a servant and always thought of others. In addition, she financially supported Operation Smile. Betty worked full-time while raising her six children. She worked in a factory in downtown Omaha called Tip Top and worked and retired from Western Electric. She was well known for selling her enchiladas. At one point in time owned and operated Ariza’s Mexican Restaurant in downtown Omaha. She had an entrepreneurial spirit which she passed on to her six children.

Edward Jershin, age 92, of Omaha went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Jershin, sister Amelia Jershin and brothers Frank and James Jershin of Omaha. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Lowene (Rothe) Jershin; daughter Jill (Alan) Butler of Elkhorn NE, and son Jay (Alison) Jershin of Allen, TX. Grandchildren Craig Butler and fiancé Hilary Winter of Wahoo, Cole Butler of Columbus, OH, Lauren and Jacob Jershin of Allen, TX. Ed served in the U.S. Army during World War II and U.S. Air Force Reserves during the Korean War. He worked as Machinist at Union Pacific for 10 years. He retired in 1989 from Western Electric/AT&T where he worked for 30 years as an Inspector of installation of machinery and equipment and as a Machinist. Ed’s good dancing caught the eye of Lowene and they were married in Omaha in September of 1956. Together they danced, played cards, golfed, spent time at the American Legion Post 374 and made many great memories with family and friends. They lived in Arizona for 16 years for the love of year-round golf, before returning to Omaha in 2011. Ed will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren. He was an excellent role-model for love, family-values, and loyalty. A Celebration of Life service will be planned in the future when family and friends can gather. Memorial contributions should be directed to the Lutheran Church of the Master, Omaha NE.

Carolyn was born July 23, 1941 in Woodbine, Iowa, to Lester and Lovina (Kelley) Churchill. In each of the jobs Carolyn worked: Western Electric, Diamond Die, and Willsie Cap & Gown, she made friends with ease, being a very social, and outgoing woman. Some of Carolyn’s favorite things to do included crafting, dancing, being an active member of the F.O.E. #38 in Omaha, Nebraska, and enjoying time with family and close friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Lester Churchill; mother, Lovina Bryant; step-father, Wayne Bryant; brother, Jim (Anita) Churchill; former spouses, James D. Woods and Dick Hall; sons, Brad and Wes Woods.

She was active with the Dagmar Rebecca Lodge for 50+ years and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Betty also enjoyed traveling on bus trips with local tour companies. She loved watching baseball on television and going to her grandchildren’s ball games. Preceded in death by loving husband, William L. Dana Lee Konchalski was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 6, 1954, to her parents Robert and Carol (Hansen) Barker. Dana went to Ankeny High School, and following high school, worked 30 years at AT&T before retiring in 2004… until she got bored. Then, she went to work for Gordmans Distribution Center, where she spent 14 years before retiring for good in April of 2019.
Dana fell in love with her husband Tom in July of 1985, and it only took a bit of convincing from Dana’s good friend, Judy Belken. After meeting Tom initially, Dana wasn’t sure of him. She thought he was a little arrogant until Judy convinced her to give him a chance. Dana would joke that after that first date, Tom never left her side. And he didn’t. He was by her side until the very end. The two’s unconditional love for one another has shaped the family they have together.
Dana had two rowdy sons, James (married to Kim) and Jason (married to Heather), of which she and Tom were always unbelievably proud. Tom treated both of her wild boys as his own, and the four became a fast family.
Dana had many grandkids that always kept the lake house filled with hidden treasures, endless laughter and overwhelming warmth. Her grandchildren are Erika, Chella, Taylor, Shaylee, Maci, Laila, Kayden, Jayce and Jackson.
Dana was an avid reader, a master of crossword puzzles and enjoyed cooking. She was always excited to share stories with the people she loved, her bottomless joy kept everyone near her entertained, and her unparalleled ability to make anyone erupt into laughter was an absolute gift. Dana loved to spend time at the lake or go camping with her family.
Wherever Dana was, people gathered. And she left her people with better humor and a certainty that no matter what, they were overwhelmingly loved.

She was a longtime employee of Western Electric. Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Victor; and parents. Ruthanne Dimmock reported on the AT&T Facebook page the passing of William Casey. The information was relayed to us this morning. William “Bill” Casey started at the Omaha Works on 7-14-1997. We were told that he worked in both the 30 bldg. and 50 bldg. We don’t know when Bill left the Omaha Works.

William Casey, 65 of Blair, passed away January 19, 2020 at his home. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 24 at the Blair American Legion at 12 noon.
William is survived by his wife Cindy, sons William (Mindy) Casey Jr., Chris (Cassie) Casey, daughter Michelle Casey; grandchildren: Breydon, Quentin, Isabel, Sean, Lillian and Liam. He was preceded in death by his grandson Rune Casey.

Dan Lindblad notified us this morning of the passing Dolores M. Thornburg. Dolores retired from the Omaha Works while we were still AT&T with 30 years of service. Dan mentioned that he worked with Delores in Mini Wire Spring Relays for many years. I didn’t see this obit in the morning email earlier today.

Dolores M (Trout) Thornburg was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Charles Thornburg. She is survived by her daughters Kathy (Dan) Proffitt, Debbie (Doug) Kobylasz and Judy Murcek. 6 grandchildren Rob, Diane (Ben), Melissa, Vicki (Carl) and Gerald (Jessica). 18 great grandchildren Shad (Cheyanne), Valerie, Taylor, Hunter, Kayleigh, Joesph, Norah, Katie, Summer, Landon, Rylie, Dominic, Nevaeh, Malena, Braxton, Trinity and Greyson, and many other relatives and friends.
Dolores was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Dane and Margaret Trout. Dolores met the love of her life and they got married on October 28, 1950. Together they had three children.
Dolores worked at AT&T from 1960-1990. She spent many years there working on the assembly line and establishing life long friendships.
After losing her husband in 1994, she took up traveling to different places with her mother Margaret, her aunt Shirley and best friends Carolyn.
She enjoyed doing ceramics on Tuesday nights and monthly luncheons with “the girls”.
What put a smile on her face was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dolores was preceded in death by her infant son (Floyd Charles Thornburg Jr), great grandson (Jordan Charles Armstrong), grandson’s (Michael Dane Buechler and Jamie Joseph Kobylasz).

On January 6, 2020, Pat Elliott died doing what he loved best, helping others. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 2, 1953 to Truman and Dorothy Elliott. He grew up in a poor family, the middle child of nine, and was dubbed “the Rebel” of the already rowdy bunch. He signed up for the Marine Corps in 1971 and served in The Vietnam War as a machine gunner. In his mid-twenties, Pat recommitted his life to Jesus.
By the grace of God, his strength of spirit and passionate faithfulness, Pat became “the Reverend.” Always gifted with using his hands, Pat worked as a roofer, welder, and handyman extraordinaire. He used these gifts to bless countless people, family and strangers alike. He was a preacher at heart and loved to share about God’s love to all who would listen. Especially close to his heart was Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, where he volunteered as a chaplain for nearly 10 years.
After retirement, he also volunteered his time and expertise at Omaha Rapid Response, helping those who had become homeless through storm or flood rebuild their lives. When he wasn’t helping others, Pat loved to spend his time out in nature. He spent long, joyful hours up in a deer stand, walking his hunting dogs through fields, catching award-winning fish, feeding backyard birds with his wife, and taming the wild berry bramble he planted in their backyard for all to enjoy.
Pat gave generously to all people and befriended anyone and everyone, but he was particularly doting with the children who knew him as Grandpa, Papa, or Mr. Pat. He built playhouses, sandboxes, train tracks and impressive towers, doled out peanuts and pieces of gum, read books, changed diapers, led dance parties, and was rarely found without a baby in his arms.
He was a deeply devoted husband, father, and grandfather who knew the Father’s love and shared this love every way he knew how. Pat is survived by Peggy, his wife of 35 years, his four sons, Patrick (Stephanie), Jonathan, Michael (Tasha), and Gabriel (Tricia) Elliott, two daughters, Kira (Kristopher) Day and Abigail (Benjamin) Eberly, ten grandchildren, Dalton, Breanna, Harper, Samantha, Seamus, Solomon, Eve, Rosemary, Sapphira, and Iona, and eight siblings, Bill, Dorothy, Tom, Mike, Nancy, David, Danny, and Paul.
Pat’s eternal smile, strong hands, and warm heart will be remembered by all who knew him. The light of the rebel turned reverend will continue to shine brightly through the lives of all those who felt the warmth of his love. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
